This topic immediately caught my attention as I’ve recently begun doing some holistic VNS under the direction of my doctor. I’ve experienced a great deal of depression in the past as well as injuries that have stopped this nerve from functioning correctly. My third concussion was particularly damaging and I was never able to find the connection between that and other issues I was experiencing until I met with my newest doctor.
The stimulation can be interesting, and done in a lot of unique ways, several of which seem to be working quite well for me. This being said, I don’t necessarily believe it takes any type of surgery for the stimulation. I think there are natural ways to activate the nerve and restore health. It just needs deeper understanding and testing theories with someone who understands how it all fits together.
You ask if I’d get an implant? The answer is simple: NO. I believe in alternatives that can have the same, if not better, results. I’m seeing them for myself.
